Use of text in TV advertisements and in film

My supervisor showed me Stella Artois ad, where the theme of the ad is about creating perfection. There is a shot of a man measuring the length of the grass at Wimbledon and there is a faint outline of the measurements involved in typography. This reminded me of some of the figures in Ellen Lupton's ‘Thinking With Type’ book where she describes all of the elements of different letters. I decided add a little to the logo to include some of the detail and to faintly show some of the precision that has gone in to creating a particular font. Whilst doing this I created lines for the x-height and the caps height, which almost looked like staff and bar lines in music notation.

As well as this, I’ve been going through some Javascript tutorials, nothing amazing to show yet but I’ve a much better understanding of ‘for’ loops.
